DDB Group Egypt IT Releases New Intranet

July, 2009

DDB Group Egypt IT released the new intranet ‘Version 5.0’ on Tuesday July 14th. The IT team  have been diligently working on this project since 2008. Version 1.0 appeared in September 2001. It was a very basic address book along with a few other things.

In 2002 the  IT team decided that the intranet needed a facelift and additional functionality so they released ‘Version 2.0.’ In 2004 they launched ‘Version 3.0’, which had technical action sheets and memos.  ‘Version 4.0’ was launched in 2006, introducing the Microsoft Exchange Email system to the intranet for the first time. This version was also a major move as the programming language changed from PHP to Net. A few more improvements were made to the latest version releasing 'Version 4.0.1. ’Version 5.0’ came out of necessity as an initiative to clean up the intranet clutter or messy code that has accumulated since Version 1.  “This new intranet is more dynamic, introducing widgets and customization to users,” said IT Manager Tarek Khalifa. “Each user can customize their profile to their liking by installing widgets anywhere, for example they can have their inbox on the homepage or have widgets with reminders on any page,” he added.

DDB Group Egypt IT Department Re-Design TNTV Website for Ramadan
October, 2005

The TNTV website portal has been re-designed to promote the 3 new TV programs of Ramadan for 2005.

TNFREE is the group’s free internet number 07772000.  Using the TNFREE dialup costs you only as much as a normal phone call, except the ISP allows you to watch video clips and listen to music from all the and LUV Media TV shows.

The TNTV website promotes the group’s TV shows and advertisements.  It also has bi-weekly foreign and Middle Eastern reviews on famous personalities and films. Offering a forum to post messages about favorite topics and a weekly newsletter that is sent to registered members during peak broadcasting times TNTV has its own select following and niche.  The IT Department uploads complementary banners for clients who advertise during the month of Ramadan.
